Templehall Inn, Morebattle

Templehall Inn is the beating heart of Morebattle village, which is just a 20-minute walk from Linton Lookout. Serving delicious pub grub, Sunday roasts and a range of refreshing drinks throughout the year, Templehall's beer garden is the perfect spot to refuel after a day in the hills.

The Border Hotel, Kirk Yetholm

The Border Hotel has been in operation since the mid 18th century and this traditional pub is the perfect pit-stop after a hike in the Cheviot Hills. Good quality food, cooked using local produce where possible, can be enjoyed in the bar as well as the restaurant or the beer garden. 

Kelso Town Centre, Cafés & Eateries

There are a number of fantastic cafés and restaurants in Kelso. You can grab delicious pastries and a coffee at Naked Sourdough, book your evening meal at the Cobbles or window-shop with an ice cream from Becattelli Artisan Gelato... all favourite options among the locals!

Kelso Abbey & Farmers Market, Kelso

Kelso, just 10 minutes from Linton Lookout, is a bustling market town full of independent shops and historical features, such as Kelso Abbey. You can also enjoy Kelso's Farmers Market on the 4th Saturday of each month... and you won't leave empty-handed!

Floors Castle is the largest inhabited castle in Scotland. This historic home and it's Walled Garden are open to the public and offer an insight into both the history and culture of the local area. The gardens are beautiful throughout the year and the attractions' two cafe's offer excellent estate produce for you to enjoy when you stop for a bite to eat. 

Beirhope Alpacas is a unique agritourism business less than 15 minutes from Linton Lookout, offering visitors an opportunity to interact and trek with their wonderful alpacas. With experiences available to suit all ages, Beirhope Alpacas is a great option if you're looking to book an outdoor activity whilst staying with us.

Adventure

The Cheviot Hills

The Cheviot Hills divide the Scottish Borders from England, and are well known and loved locally for the variety of viewpoints and their vast expanses of peace and quiet. Whether on foot or on horseback, The Cheviot Hills provide some of the best hill walks and trails in the south of Scotland.

Borders Abbeys Way

This excellent circular route passes through many of the historic towns and villages of the Scottish Borders, taking in the magnificent ruined abbeys of Melrose, Dryburgh, Kelso and Jedburgh. The route also passes Abbotsford House, the home of the great Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832). 

The Borders Abbeys Way can be started from any of the Abbey towns and is 107km in total.

Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland

Linton Lookout is conveniently located for a day-trip to Berwick-upon-Tweed and the coastline of north Northumberland. The coastline is widely recognised as one of the most beautiful in the UK, and there are a number of boat trips that can be taken to try and spot some of the British marine wildlife that call Northumberland home.
